Frequently Asked Questions

Private tours are tours that are aimed at a closed group. On a private tour, we can better cater to your personal wishes, incorporate breaks and we can also visit a café, for example. So if you want to be amongst yourselves on your tour (without strangers), then a private tour is the best option for you.

However, if you would like to get to know other travellers and only want to buy a few individual tickets for a tour, then it may be more worthwhile to choose a public tour.

We currently offer the Red Light District Tour, the Cultural City Tour, the Van Gogh Museum Tour, the Rijksmuseum Tour, the Cultural Food Tour and the Anne Frank Tour as public tours. All these tours can also be booked as private tours. You can find other tours that we offer exclusively as private tours in our tour overview.

We love the personal contact, the family atmosphere. That’s why our public groups are always very small (maximum 15 people on walking tours).

Yes, all of Incredible Amsterdam’s guides are native or fluent English speakers who have found a new home in Amsterdam. All our tours are available in English.

Yes, but your dog is not allowed inside any buildings visited. This is especially important on the food tour and the cultural inner city tour, which includes the Begijnhof. In principle, it is only advisable to take your dog with you if there are two of you and you can take turns holding the leash. If you want to take your dog with you on the Red Light District tour, please note that the Red Light District is very crowded, especially during the weekend. The dog must be able to cope well with crowds. He is not allowed in the peepshow.

Assistance dogs are of course an exception. These are allowed everywhere.

Yes, most tours are. Please note that many tours are at least 2 hours long. This can be exhausting for very small children. If you would like to go on a tour tailored to children with your little ones, please write to us. The public red light tour is for children aged 18 and over, 16 and over with a parent or guardian. If you would like to take younger family members on the red light tour, it is advisable to book a private tour. We will then adapt the tour to the age of the participants. A visit to the red light district with us is also suitable for young people because we take a critical view on it.

The full price applies to children aged 12 and over. Children under the age of 12 receive a discount. However, the discount also depends on the number of children. If you have any questions, simply write to us at: [email protected]

Of course! As one of the most famous bike cities in the world, we love exploring Amsterdam by bike with you. The city centre of Amsterdam is often hectic for cyclists, so we recommend our tour to Amsterdam Noord. Here you can experience pure Dutch fisher’s village vibes. For the sporty cyclists among you, the cycle tour to the Zaanse Schans is the right choice. Windmills and the beautiful polder landscape await you here. And for all those who want to conquer the city centre of Amsterdam: we’ll be there! The adventure awaits! Send us a message if you would like to do a bike tour. Either via our contact form under “Contact” or by email to [email protected]

Since 1 January 2020, the city of Amsterdam has levied a tourist tax on every participant of every tour (except for museum tours). This is 2.50 euros. If you take part in several tours, the tourist tax will be charged again for each tour. This also applies to canal tours. We are not happy about this either, but we do have to pay the tourist tax.
